It’s Official! PERSONHOOD IS ON THE BALLOT!!
UPDATE: A62 is the Only Pro-Life Issue on the Ballot Nationwide!
CONGRATULATIONS to the more than 1,400 petition circulators and to the co-sponsors, CRTL’s very own Leslie Hanks and Gualberto Garcia-Jones of Personhood Colorado!
The Colorado Secretary of State has certified that Personhood Amendment 62, Definition of Person, will appear on the statewide ballot in November!
The official text of Amendment 62, as on file with the state, is:
Be it Enacted by the People of the State of Colorado:
SECTION 1. Article II of the constitution of the state of Colorado is amended BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION to read:
Section 32. Person defined. AS USED IN SECTIONS 3, 6, AND 25 OF ARTICLE II OF THE STATE CONSTITUTION, THE TERM “PERSON” SHALL APPLY TO EVERY HUMAN BEING FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE BIOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THAT HUMAN BEING.
To quote our co-sponsor, “The text of the 2010 Personood Amendment is as simple as the idea that all human beings should be equal in the eyes of the law.” –Gualberto Garcia-Jones
By Amendment 62, a preborn child will be recognized as a person in Sections 3, 6, and 25 of Article II of Colorado’s constitution which is our state’s Bill of Rights, for these recognize inalienable rights, equality of justice, and due process of law. They state:
Section 6. Equality of justice. Courts of justice shall be open to every person, and a speedy remedy afforded for every injury to person, property or character; and right and justice should be administered without sale, denial or delay.
Section 25. Due process of law. No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property, without due process of law.
Personhood is the most important human rights movement of your lifetime. You have the opportunity to fight to end the systematic dehumanization and murder of an entire class of citizen!
