131,245 Personhood Signatures!

Historic Date May 13, 2008

DENVER, Colorado - Kristi Burton of Colorado for Equal Rights, along with a hundred of their 1,100 volunteers, delivered dozens of boxes containing 131,245 personhood signatures to the Colorado Secretary of State! That's 55,000 more than required by law to get the Personhood amendment on the November ballot!

"This is historic," said Colorado Right To Life president Joe Riccobono. "For the first time in any state, in forty years, pro-lifers are forcing a statewide opportunity to declare the personhood, and therefore, the right to life, of unborn children." A dozen reporters attending including from Denver's TV stations 4, 7, 9 and 31, and print journalists from the Colorado Statesman, Associated Press, Denver Post, and the Rocky Mountain News.

Our Gazette Letter on Regulating Abortion

Colorado RTL's letter to the editor in the Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper (Focus on the Family's hometown paper)...
Colorado Right to Life opposes every law that regulates the killing of unborn children:
because regardless of the intention, such laws violate God's enduring command, "Do not murder,"
because they merely prune the abortion weed and strengthen its root,
because such laws make abortion seem more palatable to the public and to politicians,
because our conservative judges who uphold such laws become increasingly hostile to the right to life of the unborn, and
because if Roe v. Wade is overturned, such laws will keep abortion legal in Colorado
because they end with the meaning, "and then you can kill the baby."

Weitz Watch: Will Firm Get Hit with Permanent Collaborator Status?

For Immediate Release (January 21, 2008):

Colorado RTL Watching Weitz Designation
Billion-dollar Firm May Get Hit with Permanent Collaborator Status

Colorado Right To Life is watching to see if the Weitz construction firm will be designated with Permanent Collaborator Status. A new anti-abortion group, called the Collaborators Project, has given The Weitz Company, a billion-dollar construction firm, a deadline of January 31, 2008, to stop constructing a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Denver. "If Weitz does not cease from constructing this abortion facility by January 31st," said the Collaborators Project founder Will Duffy, "we will designate their firm with Permanent Collaborator Status."

CRTL on Birth Control in Godless Schools

A local TV news report regards a Denver Public School proposal to distribute birth control and the morning after pill to high school students:

Denver's CBS affiliate News 4 reporter Raj Chohan: Not everyone agrees. Groups like Colorado Right to Life strongly oppose the plan, and believe it will send a wrong message to kids in high risk communities.

Bob Enyart, CRTL: A Denver Public School is a good place to send your daughter to become sexually active. Now, the task force wants to make it more efficient, condoms to the boys, abortion pills to your daughter, get her ready for the next guy to use her. It's called godless education.

Pro-Aborts Pay Restitution to CRTL

One of our truth truck banners was stolen at our annual CRTL Banquet by someone who wanted our message silenced. Our banner with Margaret Sanger's quote, "We don't want the word out that we want to exterminate the Negro population," was removed by someone obviously sympathetic to Planned Parenthood. CRTL persued justice in this case and received full four-fold restitution as described in God's Word for stolen goods that are destroyed (Exodus 22:1)...
